Dental Offer
Did you know that by the age of three…
and
will have some form of periodontal disease?
Bad breath isn't normal for our pets...
it's an early warning sign

Take advantage of our dental offer
With our current promotion, you can receive a 20% discount on the cost of a dental scale and polish for your pet. For just £300*, the procedure will be performed by one of our veterinary surgeons whilst your pet is under anaesthetic.
The vet will scale and polish your pet’s teeth and assess them fully (including dental x-rays), so that should any teeth require urgent attention (such as extraction), this can be discussed with you and performed during the same procedure, reducing the need for a second anaesthetic later down the line and the associated additional costs. If tooth removal is required, extraction costs will also be reduced under this offer.
*an additional £50 supplement applies for large dogs over 25kg
FAQs
How can I tell if my pet has dental problems?
Pets can be very good at hiding signs of dental disease. Some of the telltale signs you may spot include:
- Bad breath (halitosis)
- Excessive drooling
- Gingivitis (inflammation of the gums)
- Reluctance to eat, especially dried food
- Chewing with or favouring one side of the mouth
- Pawing at or rubbing the muzzle/mouth
- Bleeding from the mouth
- Broken tooth/teeth
- Swelling under the eye or around the jaw
- Sudden change in behaviour (e.g. becoming withdrawn or aggressive)
What are the benefits of a scale and polish?
If your pet already has a build up of plaque and tartar on their teeth, it won’t be possible to remove this by brushing alone. Undertaking a scale and polish allows removal of plaque and tartar, a thorough assessment of the teeth, and gives you, the pet owner, a ‘clean slate’ to start from with toothbrushing at home (which is vital to prevent the build up occuring again).
Why is a vet performing the procedure and not a vet nurse?
We know that some vet practices offer a cheaper scale and polish option, performed by a veterinary nurse. This is undertaken as part of a staged dental, meaning that should your pet require further treatment (such as extractions), they would need a second procedure as veterinary nurses cannot remove teeth.
We want to ensure we’re doing the best thing for your pet, so this offer is being performed by a vet to reduce the need for a second anaesthetic and the associated costs. It’s better for your pet’s welfare, and it’s better for your pocket!
What can I expect if I book my pet in?
Our team will run through everything in detail with you before the procedure. But, as an overview, your pet will be admitted to the practice for the day (they will need to be starved), they will be thoroughly assessed by a vet prior to their anaesthetic, and once under anaesthetic, their teeth will be scaled, polished and assessed. Following the procedure, your pet should be free to go home later that day and we’ll go through any post-operative instructions with you on discharge.
How can I look after my pet's teeth back at home?
Just as we brush our own teeth daily, the more often you can brush your pet’s pearly whites, the more effective it is! Even if daily brushing seems impossible, brushing as often as you can will still have an effect, especially if combined with other dental care products such as water additives. Don’t use human toothpaste for your pet though, as it can be toxic to our furry friends.
If you’re keen to brush your pet’s teeth, but don’t know where to start, our team can arrange the help and support you need to start you and your pet on their very own dental care regime! Believe us – your pets will thank you for it!
