Richard first worked at Locke and Preston Veterinary Group straight from University in 1995. Having had a keen interest in cardiology since qualifying, Richard left to pursue this interest, studying for several years before gaining a Certificate in Cardiology in 2003. Richard then set up a successful second opinion referral service in Somerset before returning to Bude.

Following necessary improvements and additions to our diagnostic equipment, Tamar Vets was then able to offer a comprehensive Cardio-respiratory service for small animals with suspected cardiac or respiratory disease.

Richard also offers a referral service to local veterinary practices for those difficult heart cases which benefit from Richard’s knowledge and years of experience. Richard is also a member of the Veterinary Cardiology Society.

The practice is well equipped with a comprehensive range of diagnostic facilities, including Doppler echocardiography, electrocardiography, radiography, endoscopy and blood pressure monitoring.
